Nearly 2,000 customers in downtown Phoenix have been affected by a power outage, Arizona Public Service reported in a tweet.

The electric company said areas near Central Avenue and Van Buren Street have no power. Officials were reporting outages between Central and Seventh avenues and Lynwood and Van Buren streets.

The power outage was caused by a dump truck that hit a power pole on McKinley Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues, APS reported.

According to the APS outage map, power was expected to be restored by 4 p.m. It could be sooner in some areas.
