Police are seeking the public’s help to find whoever abused a dog that was found with a slit throat earlier this month in Chandler.

Officers found Panda, the 3-year-old American Pitbull-Terrier mix, with a “severe laceration to her throat” near Warner and McQueen roads on Sept. 18.

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.

Investigators believe Panda’s injury was done intentionally with a sharp object. Police turned her over to the Arizona Humane Society to receive treatment for the wounds.

Panda’s former owner gave her up to an unknown man at Espee Park in Chandler between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11, officials said.

Police urge anyone with information regarding this abuse to contact either the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130, or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377).
