Firefighters doused a commercial building fire near the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area in Phoenix Sunday morning, officials said. 

At about 10 a.m. crews responded to reports of a working fire near Central Avenue and Pioneer Road, just south of the Salt River shore, said Phoenix Fire Capt. Joe Meier. 

Initial responders found smoke coming from the building and forced their way inside to begin taking the fire under control, he said. 

After an quick and aggressive attack, Meier said crews reported the fire out. No firefighters were injured in the incident. 

The building was described as vacant with no actual address immediately known.

Meier said the cause of the fire was under investigation Sunday morning.
