Drivers heading south on Interstate 17 near New River Sunday afternoon should expect several miles of slow traffic following a crash.

A crash briefly closed the left lane near milepost 231 south of New River, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. All lanes have reopened.

The lane may be reopened, but the department said drivers should still expect about nine miles of slow traffic leading up to the point of the crash. 

Officials did not immediately have an update on crash details.
