A crash inside the tunnel on eastbound Interstate 10 in Phoenix has closed the right three lanes and created long delays.

Backup on the I-10 reached all the way to 75th Avenue, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The eastbound Seventh Avenue on-ramp is closed, and drivers are urged to find an alternate route.

The crash occurred at 5:25 a.m. just before the morning rush hour was to begin. The lanes have been closed for the last two hours and no time estimate has been given for their reopening.

Traffic signals on McDowell Road and Van Buren road have been adjusted to help move traffic along for drivers using those roads as alternate routes.
