NFL player pleads guilty to disorderly conduct and attempted unlawful means of transportation.

SCOTTSDALE — Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman David Parry has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and attempted unlawful means of transportation to avoid jail time for what police described as a drunken golf-cart crash in Scottsdale.

Parry was arrested Feb. 25 on suspicion of assaulting the driver of a street-legal golf-cart taxi and then stealing and crashing the vehicle.

According to Scottsdale police, the driver had picked up Parry and two other people, and the alleged assault and theft occurred after the driver dropped off the other two people and got out of the cart to be paid.

Police say the 25-year-old Parry showed signs of impairment when arrested.

An officer found Parry near the scene exhibiting extremely slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes and smelling of liquor, according to police reports.

Video of his arrest was released by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. It shows the athlete rambling and cursing at arresting police officers surrounding him as he sits on a sidewalk.

“I’m not trying to cooperate with anybody here,” Parry can be heard saying in the recording.

At one point, Parry grabbed his cellphone and called someone asking for his attorney. The phone call abruptly ended when it was taken out of his hand by a police officer who restrained him.

In the video, Parry repeatedly mocked the officers, referred to them by sexual slurs, and told police that he would be “coming after all of you.”

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Parry pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of disorderly conduct and one count of attempted unlawful means of transportation.

He’s expected to be sentenced to supervised probation on May 31.
