A 1-year-old girl was pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Youngtown and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries late Tuesday afternoon, the authorities released.

Officials were called to a home near 111th and Alabama avenues about 5 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office released.

The child apparently crawled through a dog door and ended up in the backyard pool, officials said.

She was missing for about 10 minutes, officials added.

The girl was flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Additional information on her condition was not available.

An investigation is ongoing.
