When: 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Where: Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
Radio: KDUS-AM (1060).
ASU: The Sun Devils (11-12, 1-5 Pac-12) rallied from a 4-0 deficit Tuesday for a 5-4 home win over UNLV on Barry Bonds night. Tyler Williams hit a two-run homer in the sixth that stood up as the game-winner thanks to Connor Higgins 4 2/3 innings of hitless relief pitching. Freshman Carter Aldrete played shortstop and could remain there if he holds up defensively. “He may not have as good range of Jeremy (McCuin), but we’re losing games because we’re not taking care of the baseball,” coach Tracy Smith said. “We’re not making the routine play if any play is routine. He’s been the most steady from the start of the season until now. In the field, you need that at the most critical position. We don’t care about the great play up the middle. We need the guy who’s going to field the ground ball. When a ground ball is hit in the direction of Carter, I’m not wondering if we’re going to make the play. I know we’re going to make the play.” ASU also is settling down somewhat in the bullpen with roles for Eder Ervies, Jake Godfrey, Higgins, Reagan Todd and Ryan Hingst.

UCLA: The Bruins are 11-11 overall but on a five-game win streak with a sweep of California (20-0 in the finale) in between wins over No. 11 Arizona and No. 15 Cal State Fullerton and stand 4-2 in Pac-12 play. They have scored 55 runs during the streak, winning with offense, unlike recent pitching-dominant teams. UCLA has lost six in a row before its current turnaround. DH Kyle Cuellar is hitting .429 with 15 RBI and 1B Sean Bouchard .341 with five home runs and 21 RBI. Projected starting pitchers are Griffin Canning, Moises Ceja and Jon Olsen.
Tuesday: ASU 5, UNLV 4
Tyler Williams and Gage Canning had two RBIs each to help ASU baseball (11-12) rally from an early four-run deficit and secure a 5-4 win over UNLV on Tuesday night at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
Arizona State wore throwback uniforms, and former ASU and MLB star Barry Bonds was honored before the game. Bonds also threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Sun Devils will begin a three-game home series against UCLA (11-11) on Friday, 6:30 p.m. The weekend games are Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
