At least two people were displaced on Friday when a home in Phoenix caught fire after a car burst into flames, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Fire crews received reports of a house fire near 55th Avenue and Pollack Street around 5:30 p.m., according to Capt. Frank Keller. When they arrived, firefighters found a car on fire inside the garage and flames extending into the attic.
The fire crew on scene confirmed all occupants had evacuated the house and put out the fire in the garage.
Simultaneously, crews worked on extinguishing the fire extending to the attic, preventing the flames from expanding to other parts of the house, said Keller.
While controlling the fire, they also attempted to save undamaged property inside the home.
There were no people injured during the incident and two people were displaced, Kelly said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
