That doesn’t look promising for anyone else on the depth chart, but Benjamin might be too talented to redshirt. The 5-10, 200-pound freshman – on campus for spring practice – last season was among the top high school running backs in Texas. The AP named him Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year.

Delayed start
Heavy rains at Camp Tontozona delayed the start of Saturday’s ASU football practice.
Crews were out spreading a drying agent on the fields early Saturday morning after rain moved through the area Friday night.
The final practice at Camp Tontozona was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Officials were hoping to get underway by about 10 a.m.
Fans were in the area early and cars were lining the streets in the area more than an hour before practice was scheduled to begin.
The practice was scheduled to end at 12 p.m. and be followed by an autograph session.

Weather
Saturday’s high temperature is expected to hit the mid 80s, with a chance for an afternoon thunderstorm in spots. Nonetheless, fans should always prepare for rain during Saturday’s final practice, so plan accordingly.
Parking
Parking is limited all week. Parking for Saturday will be in a closed section on the eastbound side of SR260 near Camp Tontozona Road.
Be sure to follow the message boards, speed-limit signs and event parking signs on SR260 to the designated event parking areas. Parking attendants will be placed at the entrance locations to direct guests to the correct parking area.
The eastbound lanes of SR 260 between Kohl’s Ranch and Christopher Creek will also be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Sunday to allow for parking, according to ADOT.
Travel alert
ADOT issued a warning for drivers who plan to use SR 260 east of Payson on Saturday morning, saying drivers should allow extra travel time because of heavy traffic in the area.
Fans traveling to the area from Phoenix should also be aware of traffic restrictions on SR 87 about 25 miles south of Payson, where the highway is narrowed to one lane for repairs. “Drivers can expect long delays and should consider alternate routes between Payson and the Valley,” ADOT has warned.
