A body was recovered from South Mountain by the Phoenix Fire Department on Saturday afternoon, officials said. Police later determined it was a suicide.

The Phoenix police first reported the body and then sought the Fire Department’s help in getting it off the mountain, said Fire Department spokesman Rob McDade.
