With bowl eligibility at stake, Arizona State on Saturday visits Oregon State. The Sun Devils (5-5 and 4-3 in the Pac-12) have not won in Corvallis since 2005.

Kickoff at Reser Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. Arizona time.

Television: Pac-12 Networks. Radio: Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

FIND A GAME: College football games to watch

3 things to watch

1. Can Arizona State achieve bowl eligibility? Dating to last year, the Sun Devils are 0-7 in games in which they can reach the required six wins to become bowl eligible. ASU lost last week at UCLA, a game it let slip away. Given Oregon State’s struggles, this one shouldn’t be as difficult. At the same time, the Sun Devils have lost five in a row in Corvallis.

2. Can ASU handle the pressure? Oregon State has no pressure. It’s the Beavers’ Senior Day, their final home game. They have nothing to lose. That’s not the case for ASU. The Sun Devils not only are playing for bowl eligibility, but coach Todd Graham’s job. A loss here almost certainly would seal his fate.

3. Can the defense bounce back? In last week’s UCLA loss, the Sun Devils made uncharacteristic mistakes. Instead of missing tackles — a problem at times this season —- ASU had what Graham calls “critical errors,” plays that often result in touchdowns. Not having junior safety Dasmond Tautalatasi because of injury was a contributing factor. Tautalatasi is questionable against Oregon State.

PICKS: Who wins ASU vs. Oregon State game?

CLOSE

azcentral sports’ Doug Haller and Greg Moore look back at ASU’s loss to UCLA and ahead to the Sun Devils’ game at Oregon State.

About Oregon State

The Beavers (1-9 and 0-7 in the Pac-12) have had a rocky season. After a slow start, coach Gary Andersen on Oct. 7 resigned, leaving $12 million on the table. Cornerbacks coach Cory Hall has taken over on an interim basis. At times, Oregon State has showed competitiveness. On Oct. 14, the Beavers lost 36-33 to Colorado in Corvallis. Twelve days later they lost 15-14 against a Stanford team that played without Heisman Trophy contender Bryce Love. Even so, they have not beaten an FBS team this season, and they rank last in the Pac-12 in scoring offense (21.4 ppg) and scoring defense (40.7 ppg).

Star power

Darell Garretson. The senior quarterback should be well aware of ASU – he graduated from Chandler High, where he earned all-state honors his senior season. Garretson this season took over for injured starter Jake Luton and has started six consecutive games. He has thrown only five touchdown passes, but four came in last week’s loss at Arizona.

N’Keal Harry. The talented receiver has had a steady sophomore season. He ranks second in the Pac-12 in receptions (66) and second in receiving yards (889).  The 66 receptions already tie for seventh most in a season in school history. This week, ASU may use Harry on kickoff returns to get the ball in his hands even more.

Trending

1 — Only one team (Northern Illinois) has blocked more kicks than ASU this season. The Sun Devils have blocked punts in their last two games.

5 – Oregon State has lost five cornerbacks due to injury at different times this season. Overall, the Beavers rank 86th nationally in pass defense.

22 – Oregon State has committed 22 turnovers. Only three power-conference teams (Utah, Kansas and Washington State) have committed more.

132 — ASU senior running back Demario Richard needs just 132 rushing yards to become just the fifth career 3,000-yard rusher in school history. Richard has posted 100-yard rushing games the past two weeks.

Prediction

ASU’s history in this part of the country is not good. The Sun Devils’ last trip – in 2014 – is a dark day in program history. Oregon State is short on talent, but the Beavers haven’t quit, and on Senior Day, that gives them a chance. But ASU should have too much on the table to take anything for granted. Put it this way: If the Sun Devils fall, the question hanging over the program will be answered.

ASU 34, Oregon State 23
