The Arizona State basketball program has its second commitment of the 2022 cycle with four-star prospect Austin Nunez of Wagner High School in San Antonio, Texas making his pledge Sunday, just after his visit to the Tempe campus.

He is ranked as the No. 96 prospect nationally by 247Sports, which also has him pegged 11th at his position and tenth in the state of Texas.

The player, who was recruited by one of Bobby Hurley’s new assistants, Jermaine Kimbrough, had 18 offers with other coming from the likes of Baylor, Creighton, Georgetown, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Virginia and Pac-12 foe Oregon.

The only other school he visited was Howard, with that trip coming on Aug. 27, the week before he toured ASU.

Nunez is the second commitment for the 2022 season. He follows 6-foot-10 center Duke Brennan of Phoenix Hillcrest Prep, whose commitment came a week ago.
