A 24-year-old man died after he was found with gunshot wounds on Monday evening at a Phoenix apartment complex, according to Phoenix police.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 8 p.m. at an apartment complex just north of 24th Street and McDowell Road, according to police. When police arrived, they found Arturo Enriquez Marmolejo with a gunshot wound near an apartment.

Marmolejo was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus.

As of Tuesday morning, detectives continued to investigate what led up to the shooting, according to Justus. There was no additional information available.
