Coyotes (26-37-9) vs. Lightning (34-28-9)
Puck drop: 4:30 p.m.
TV/Radio: Fox Sports Arizona-Plus/KTAR-AM (620).
The Coyotes assigned center Laurent Dauphin to the American Hockey League and recalled winger Christian Fischer, who will play tonight against the Lightning.
“We switched Dauphin and Fischer out,” coach Dave Tippett said. “Dauph was here, we had injury concern with one of the centermen. That concern has been cleared up. We’ll bring Fisch. Fisch has played real well down there. We wanted to get him another look before the end of the year. He’ll come up, and we’ll see what he can do.”
Defenseman Anthony DeAngelo, who was acquired in a trade with the Lightning last summer, will draw back in for defenseman Zbynek Michalek.
“He didn’t spend a lot of time in Tampa here,” Tippett said. “More with the minor-league team, but it’s an organization that drafted him. So he’ll come in and want to play well, I’m sure.”
Backup goalie Louis Domingue will start against the Lightning.
“The last three or four starts have been real solid for him,” Tippett said. “He’s gotta embrace that role. It’s a hard role for a goaltender to play when they’re not in a rhythm. But he’s gotta embrace that role. The last few outings have been strong.”
Winger Christian Fischer had two goals in three games earlier this season.
The Coyotes are 7-9 against the Lightning in Tampa Bay.
They’re 1-0 this season, and a win tonight would be Arizona’s third sweep against Tampa Bay.
Arizona ranks 10th in the NHL in blocked shots (1,068).
Winger Lawson Crouse’s 136 hits are the second-most among NHL rookies.
Tampa Bay has tallied at least a point in its last four home games against Arizona.
The team is also 6-1-1 in its last eight home games against the Coyotes.
Tampa Bay is 5-6-2 against the Pacific Division.
Winger Nikita Kucherov has 12 goals and 22 points in his last 13 games.
He’s tied for fourth in the NHL in goals with 33.
Possible Coyotes lines:
Domi-Dvorak-Vrbata
Perlini-Martinook-Rieder
Crouse-Jooris-McGinn
Duclair-Holland-Fischer
