Looks like you might want to be careful when getting into an argument over a rivalry football game.
According to a report from AL.com, a man was shot Monday when he was arguing with another about which football team is better, Alabama or Auburn.
The report says two men got into an argument at a motel in Mobile, Ala., about which team is better and that one of the men pulled a gun and shot the other in the thigh. The shooter left the scene.
Police said the victim’s injuries weren’t life threatening. The report said that police haven’t arrested anyone but they’re planning to charge the shooter with second-degree assault if found.
Alabama and Auburn will play each other in the Iron Bowl at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn. The Crimson Tide play Mercer at home this week and Auburn plays Louisiana-Monroe at home.
Alabama is ranked No. 1 in the Amway Coaches’ Poll and in the College Football Playoff rankings. Auburn is sixth in the Coaches’ Poll and in the rankings.
