A new exhibition is coming to Phoenix and it will put you in the center of a Vincent Van Gogh masterpiece.

“Immersive Van Gogh” is an art installation that features massive moving projections of the renowned painter’s work including “Starry Night,” “Sunflowers,” “The Bedroom” and “The Potato Eaters.”

Created by Italy’s digital artist Massimiliano Siccardi, the touring show opens July 29 at a secret Phoenix location that will be announced soon, according to a press release. Tickets are $39.99 per person and presales begin March 9 at vangoghphx.com.

“Hundreds of thousands of guests have seen ‘Immersive Van Gogh’ in small, socially distanced safe groups. It is an honor to bring the arts back into peoples’ lives during these times,” said producer Corey Ross in a press release.

How the show brings ‘Van Gogh’s legacy to life’

The walk-through experience is an hour long with timed entry. Capacity will be limited and additional safety precautions include touchless ticket-taking, temperature checks upon arrival, hand sanitizer stations, social distancing markers throughout the venue, and digitally projected social distancing circles on the gallery floors to ensure appropriate spacing. All guests must wear a face covering at all times during their visit.

“Immersive Van Gogh” sold out its run in Toronto and sold out and extended its run in Chicago. Before it comes toPhoenix, the show opens in San Francisco in March, where its first month of tickets are already sold out. The show is also coming to Los Angeles and New York.

Siccardi and his creative team have made Van Gogh’s art come alive by creating movement in his work. The exhibition also features original music by Italian multimedia composer Luca Longobardi.

“Despite being unknown throughout his life, Van Gogh’s artwork has created a lasting impact through its emotional richness and simple beauty,” Siccardi said in the release.

“Both myself and Luca Longobardi are very excited to visit Phoenix and once again bring Van Gogh’s legacy to life in a way that embraces this city’s one-of-a-kind energy.”
