Arizona never lacks kickers with weather to practice year-round. This season, there isn’t the big-time, nationally ranked kicker — but certainly enough talent to make it tough to narrow it down to a top 10. Two have already committed to major colleges to kick.
Here are my top 10 kickers and punters.

No. 1 Brayden Narveson, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, 6-0, 190, Sr.
His only field goal last season was from 51 yards out. Now he’ll assume the role of full-time kicker. He committed to Iowa State. Powerful leg, booms kicks out of end zone. Will be huge weapon for the Wolves.
No. 2 Cash Peterman, Chandler, 5-11, 200, Sr.
He committed to BYU after an impressive camp. Seldom had to be called on to kick field goals because Chandler usually scored touchdowns when it was in field goal range last season. Big leg and accurate. Very good punter. Was five of six on field goals his junior season.
No. 3 Xavier Rojas, Peoria Centennial, 5-8, 165, Sr.
Like Chandler, Centennial usually scored touchdowns when positioned downfield. But Rojas was pretty accurate last season, making six of seven field goals. He is as accurate a kicker the school has seen in its history.
No. 4 Jacori Wooten, Queen Creek, 6-0, 162, Sr.
Keeps teams deep at their end with his kickoffs and drive the ball consistently well. He was nine of 12 on field-goal attempts with a long of 43 last year.
No. 5 Ben Abercrombie, Phoenix Mountain Pointe, 5-11, 170, Jr.
Followed his brother as a kicker at Mountain Pointe and is living up to the family legacy. He was seven of 12 on field goals and 74 of 78 on PATs as a sophomore.

No. 6 Hunter Nemeth-Williams, Goodyear Millennium, 5-10, 160, Jr.
Powerful leg, he made seven of 14 field goals and hit on all 16 of his point-afters as a sophomore. His longest field goal was 49 yards.
No. 7 Carlos Ritchie, Laveen Cesar Chavez, 6-1, 175, Sr.
Good athlete who started the first half of last season at quarterback. He also started in the secondary. Outstanding punter. He averaged 43 yards a punt last season for the Champions, placing seven inside the 20. He was 50 of 55 on PATs.
No. 8 Talen Rider, Queen Creek American Leadership, 5-9, 155, Jr.
Big leg and accurate, he made eight of 12 field goals with a long of 41 yards for the 3A state champs last season.
No. 9 Bryce Peters, Prescott, 6-0, 175, Jr.
He had the best kickoff hangtime of 4.19 seconds at Chris Sailer’s kicking camp last month. He was seven on nine on field goals last season as a sophomore.
No. 10 Tommy Christakos, Scottsdale Chaparral, 6-3, 180, So.
He only played three games last season because of an injury. Already a top wide receiver prospect in the 2020 class, Christakos’ leg is the real deal. He can boom it and it could be on full display as a major weapon this season.
