One half of Phoenix Suns All-Star backcourt made an All-NBA team this year.

The other once again didn’t even after another great season.

Chris Paul earned second-team All-NBA honors while Devin Booker didn’t make first, second or third-team NBA as voted on by a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters.

Players received five points for first-team vote, three points for second-team vote and one point for third-team vote based on the regular season.

Paul was the catalyst to Phoenix returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Finishing fifth in the NBA MVP voting, Paul averaged 16.4 points, 8.9 assists to 2.2 turnovers and led the league in free throw shooting percentage at 93.4%.

The second-seeded Suns will play either the top-seed Utah Jazz or fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers in the conference finals beginning as early as June 20. The Jazz and Clippers are tied at 2-2 going into Wednesday’s Game 4 in Utah.

Paul, at age 36, made All-NBA for the 10th time in his 16 NBA seasons.

• First team (4): 2007-08, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14.
• Second team (5): 2008-09, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2019-20, 2020-21.
• Third team (1): 2010-11.

Paul received 23 first-team votes, 62 second-team votes and 10 third-team votes for 311 total points. The 11-time All-Star is averaging 15.7 points on 50.9% shooting (44.4% from 3) and 8.7 assists to 1.4 turnovers as he’s coming off a 37-point effort in leading the Suns past Denver, 125-118, in Sunday’s Game 4 sweep over the third-seeded Nuggets.

As for Booker, he received three second-place votes and 12 third-team votes for 21 total points. Last season, he only received three third-team votes and in 2018-19, he got one third-team vote.

Here’s a breakdown of the “receiving votes” for guards as Booker averaged 25.6 points on 48.8% shooting from the field, 4.3 assists to 3.1 turnovers and 4.2 rebounds in 67 games this season.

Booker and Mitchell are the only two players out of 45 players since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976 to average 25-plus points on a team that finished the regular season with one of the NBA’s top two records and not earn All-NBA first or second team.

A two-time All-Star, Booker is averaging 27.9 points on 48.7% shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists to 3.7 turnovers in the playoffs.
