The Las Vegas Summer League final four delivered on its promise with top rookies Lonzo Ball (16 points, 10 assists in only 21 minutes) and Dennis Smith Jr. (21 and six) showing that they have all-star pedigree and very likely several All-Star appearances ahead of them.

The coach
First, it was LA summer league coach – and former Wildcats standout – Jud Buechler devising a game plan that saw the Lakers roll to a huge early lead – with plenty of help from Lonzo Ball.

The comeback
Ex-UA forward Brandon Ashley helped lead a Dallas comeback from a 26-point deficit to just one, 98-97. (ASU’s Carrick Felix also helped the Mavs in the fourth quarter, so it wasn’t completely nauseating for Sun Devils fans.)
The dagger
But Dallas couldn’t complete the comeback and watched none other than former UA guard Gabe York hit some key free throws in the final minutes to seal the 108-98 win.
The encore
Monday night features the title game between the Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers, who have ex-UA star, and 2014 Pac-12 Player of the Year Nick Johnson.
