Bill Maher comes to Comerica Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 22.  

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Ticketmaster.com and the venue box office.

From “Politically Incorrect” to HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and laughs have garnered him 41 Emmy nominations. That same combination was on display in Maher’s “Religulous,” directed by Larry Charles (“Borat”), which went on to become the eighth highest-grossing documentary ever.

He’s also written five best-sellers: “True Story,” “Does Anybody Have a Problem with That?  Politically Incorrect’s Greatest Hits,” “When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden,” “New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer” and most recently, “The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody But  Me Has Their Head Up Their (Expletive).”

Maher started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1979 and still performs at least 50 dates a year in Las Vegas and in theaters across the country.  Four of his 10 stand-up specials for HBO have been nominated for Emmy awards. 

3/5: Blake Shelton

Country music superstar Blake Shelton brings his Friends and Heroes 2020 Tour to Gila River Arena on March 5, 2020, with special guest Lauren Alaina as well as appearances by the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins.

1/21: Trey Anastasio Band

The Trey Anastasio Band, led by the singer-guitarist who improvised his way to the top of the jam-rock circuit at the helm of Phish, will play the Van Buren on Jan. 21.

Tickets are $45, going on sale to the general public at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at thevanburenphx.com.

Earlier this year, Anastasio premiered his acclaimed feature-length documentary, “Between Me and My Mind.” Beginning Oct. 11, the film will be available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon. Directed by Steven Cantor, the film is an intimate look into the mind of Anastasio and captures him as he works through some of his most personal song ideas to date, placing his relationships with friends and family at its core.

Anastasio’s last Valley appearance was a solo acoustic performance at Mesa Arts Center on Dec. 3, 2018.

11/29: Lisa Loeb

Lisa Loeb will perform an acoustic set at Zia Records Tempe on Nov. 29, to celebrate the Record Store Day Black Friday release of “Stay (I Missed You) 25th Anniversary.”

“Stay (I Missed You)” was the Grammy-winning singer’s chart-topping debut, which marked the first time that a single by an unsigned artist topped the Hot 100. Grammy-winning country duo Dan + Shay will bring their first arena tour to Glendale, performing at Gila River Arena on Oct. 21, 2020.

Dan + Shay announced the tour just days after unveiling a collaboration with one of the world’s best-selling pop stars, Justin Bieber, the single  “10,000 Hours.” 

Fans can expect to hear the duo’s growing catalog of hits, including songs from their most recent album, “Dan + Shay,” which has held strong in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart all year while sending three songs to the top spot – the triple-platinum “Tequila,” double-platinum “Speechless” and most recently, “All To Myself.”

Mott the Hoople ’74 cancel tour

Mott the Hoople ’74 have announced the cancellation of their U.S. tour, which would have included an Oct. 31 performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Singer-guitarist Ian Hunter has recently developed a severe case of tinnitus and has been advised by his doctors to discontinue performing until this condition subsides.

Tickets purchased for these dates can be refunded at the point of sale.

1/10-11: Styx launch tour in Phoenix

Styx will launch their 2020 tour the same way they launched this year’s tour – on stage in Phoenix at the Celebrity Theatre. 

They’re playing two shows – Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11. 

Showtime for both shows is 8 p.m.

3/29: Celine Dion

Celine Dion will bring her Courage World Tour to Gila Rier Arena in Glendale on March 29. The tour, which launched Sept. 18 in Québec, is the singer’s first U.S. tour in more than 10 years in support of her first English album in 6 years.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Last week, Dion released three new tracks from her upcoming album, due Nov. 15, also titled “Courage:” “Imperfections,” “Lying Down,” and the title song.

12/6: It Was 50 Years Ago Today

Christopher Cross, Todd Rundgren, Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, Jason Scheff of Chicago and Joey Molland of Badfinger will bring a show called It Was Fifty Years Ago Today – Tour 2019 – A Tribute To The Beatles’ White Album on Friday, Dec. 6 at the historic Celebrity Theatre.

In addition to playing selections from the Beatles’ “White Album,” which actually turns 51 in two months, they’ll be playing their own hits. 

The tribute’s musical director is Joey Curatolo (the musical director of RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles).

2/8: Dermot Kennedy

Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy brings his longest U.S. tour to date to Comerica Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 8. 

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at LiveNation.com.

Kennedy’s debut album, “Without Fear,” will be released Oct. 4. His global streaming numbers continue to rise with more than 600 million across all platforms and more than 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

He’s also earned praise from Time magazine, NPR, Complex and Billboard.

Kennedy recently made his US television debut on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” quickly followed by an appearance on “The Ellen Show.”

3/27: Dancing with the Stars Live

“Dancing with the Stars” returns to Phoenix on Friday, March 27, bringing 28 dancers to Comerica Theatre on its longest tour to date.

Those dancers include Brandon Armstrong, Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Gleb Savchenko and Emma Slater.

11/23: Lindsey Stirling

Electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling abrings her Warmer in the Winter Christmas Tour to Comerica Theatre for a hometown concert on Nov. 23.

This Stirling’s third Christmas tour, featuring holiday themes as well Stirling’s signature brand of dance routines and on-stage visuals. This year’s set list will feature an array of holiday classics including “I Wonder as I Wander,” “Santa Baby” and  “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” as well as some original pieces, including “Christmas C’mon” and” Warmer in the Winter.”

“Warmer in the Winter” was the best-selling new Christmas album of 2017, outselling pop music heavyweights such as Gwen Stefani and Sia.  It was also the best-performing holiday album on Pandora with more than 40 million spins and had the biggest debut for a holiday release last season. “Carol of the Bells” from “Warmer in the Winter: Deluxe Edition” was the first instrumental to go Top 10 at AC radio, where it peaked at No. 5.

Stirling will embark on a US tour in support of her new album, “Artemis,” in 2020.

1/17: Temptations and Four Tops

Motown legends the Temptations and the Four Tops return to Comerica Theatre on Friday, Jan. 17th.

Otis Williams, the last surviving link to the Temptations’ hit days, says, “The Tempts have always been known for great lead singers. Today we have four of the greatest leads in the proud history of the group.”

Abdul “Duke” Fakir is the lone surviving members of the Four Tops’ classic lineup.

12/7: John Leguizamo

John Leguizamo will bring his latest one-man show, the Broadway hit “Latin History for Morons,” to Tempe on Dec. 7.

Tickets went on sale Sept. 16 for the show at ASU Gammage, the Frank Lloyd Wright landmark that hosts first-run Broadway tours such as “Mean Girls.” Prices start at $20-$65 but are subject to increases based on demand. Order at 480-965-3434 or asugammage.com.

Leguizamo started out in stand-up comedy in New York in the 1980s but quickly jumped to screen acting. He has done Shakespeare with Baz Luhrmann, dressed in drag with Wesley Snipes and lisped his way through five “Ice Age” flicks as the voice of Sid the Sloth.

Born in Colombia and raised in New York, Leguizamo has been exploring his cultural heritage in one-man shows since 1991, including “Mambo Mouth” and “Spic-O-Rama,” some of which have been performed by other actors at regional theaters (including here in Phoenix).

“Latin History for Morons” is his take on Latinos in the U.S., although of course he goes all the way back to Christopher Columbus. It opened on Broadway in November 2017 and got extended into a three-month-plus run (which counts as a hit for a non-musical play although it would be a box office disaster for a big musical).

That production was filmed and is currently available for streaming on Netflix. So, maybe those tickets won’t sell out right away.

Jackie Evancho cancels Celebrity Theatre show

The Jackie Evancho concert scheduled for Oct. 5 at the Celebrity Theatre has been canceled. 

The news appeared on the theater’s website and DannyZeliskoPresents.com, the show’s promoter. 

No reason was given. An email to the promoter wasn’t answered. 

The soprano gained fame on “America’s Got Talent,” which she appeared on in 2010. She was 10 years old. 

She is touring to promote “The Debut,” an album devoted to Broadway songs. 

Other tour dates don’t appear to have been affected. She is still slated to perform the following night at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and Oct. 12 in Stateline, Nevada, at Harrah’s. 

Joe Rogan adds third show

Comedian Joe Rogan has added a third show to his two-night stand in Phoenix

Rogan has booked a 10  p.m. show on Saturday,  Dec. 7. He already was scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. 

Tickets for the new show go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Ticketmaster.com and the box office. A limited number of tickets remain for the other two shows.

1/19: Chance the Rapper

Chance the Rapper has moved the Big Day tour, including a scheduled performance this month in Glendale, to 2020.

The Chicago-based hip-hop star posted a message to fans on Instagram explaining his decision.

Madison House Presents shared a statement that reads: “We fully support Chance taking much needed time to be with his family. We congratulate Chance, Kirsten, Kensli, and the whole Bennett family on the arrival of little Marli. We’re excited to see Chance perform a sold-out show in his hometown of Chicago on September 28 at the United Center, and look forward to seeing him and the band on the road in 2020.”

The Gila River Arena show date, originally scheduled for Sept. 22, will now take place on Jan. 19. Tickets for the rescheduled date are available for purchase now at chanceraps.com/tour. Special Guests to be announced soon.

Fans who purchased tickets to the Sept. 22 date should retain their current tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled Jan. 19 date. For those unable to attend the new date, refunds will be available at point of purchase.

11/1: Brockhampton

Brockhampton’s Heaven Belongs to You Tour will play the Van Buren on Nov. 1 in support of their fifth album, “Ginger,” with U.K. rapper slowthai opening.

Rolling Stone hailed “Ginger” as “the best music of their career” while NPR called it a “weird and wonderful genre-buster.”

11/3: Marilyn Manson

The Marilyn Manson tour is playing the Van Buren on Nov. 3. That’s close enough to Halloween to feel at least a little special, right?

The shock-rock icon arrives in continued support of “Heaven Upside Down,” a 2017 release that added several modern Manson classics to his legacy, although he tends to stack his set with highlights plucked from the mom-baiting masterpiece “Antichrist Superstar.” Either way, fans win.

12/4: King Diamond

King Diamond will bring their U.S. tour in support of “The Institute,” their first studio album in 12 years, to Comerica Theatre on Dec. 4, with support from Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats and Idle Hands. 

In a press release, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats said, “As the long nights draw in and the temperatures drop, I can’t think of a better artist to creep around North America with than the legendary King Diamond.”

Phoenix is the last night of the U.S. of the Danish metal legends’ latest U.S. tour. 

Much like the early days of fellow shock-rock legend Alice Cooper, King Diamond is  also the name of the group’s lead singer, who formed this group after making a name for himself as the singer for Mercyful Fate. He’s known using human bones for a microphone stand

12/1: Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra’sChristmas Eve and Other Stories Tour will stop at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Dec. 1 for two shows, performing the Orchestra’s 1996 debut for which the tour is named.

Al Pitrelli, their musical director and lead guitarist, told USA TODAY, “We are all so excited to bring ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories’ back this year. It’s been eight years since we last performed it and I promise it will be our most amazing show ever.”

12/5: Moscow Ballet’s ‘Great Russian Nutcracker’

The Moscow Ballet will bring the Gift of Christmas Tour to Comerica Theatre on Dec. 5, performing “Great Russian Nutcracker” for the 13th year in a row.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m.Friday, Aug. 23 at Livenation.com or the box office. 

“Great Russian Nutcracker” features award-winning principal ballerinas and dancers  from the top ballet academies in Russia and a large corps de ballet. Three groups travel simultaneously to more than cities across the United States and Canada in November and December.

9/28: Hay Day Festival 

Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers will top the bill at the inaugural Hay Day Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Tempe’s Hayden Square Amphitheatre.

The Pistoleros and Las Calakas will round out the lineup on the outdoor stage with the Hourglass Cats and Wise Monkey Orchestra playing inside Ted’s Refreshments.

The event starts 2 p.m.

12/30-31: Decadence

After its biggest year yet, Decadence returns to Rawhide Event Center in Chandler Dec. 30 and 31.

As part of the planning process, the promoters at Relentless Beats and Global Dance reached out to fans to chime in on what they liked and didn’t like about previous years and what they hoped to see this year.  

Plans are now in motion based on that feedback as the promoters plan another massive lineup for what they’ve billed as “Arizona’s biggest New Year’s Eve experience.”

Features already being implemented to improve the guest experience include increased flooring and dedicated walkways at and between the stages, additional entry and exit gates at the main stage, a reconfigured and improved VIP experience that will create better flow and shorter wait times, and increased chill stations and staffed water resources.

10/21: Bush and Live

Alternative radio staples of the ’90s Bush and Live are bringing their Alt-Imate Tour to Comerica Theatre on Monday, Oct. 21, to “roar through the classics” as Billboard summed it up.

The co-headlining tour finds them celebrating the 25th anniversary of their biggest-selling albums, Live’s “Throwing Copper” and Bush’s “Sixteen Stone.”

Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale told Consequence of Sound, “I’ve known Live since back in the day and they’re great people. As far as what people can expect, it’s a thousand percent and lots of energy, a couple of new songs and just a celebration of the summer. It’s good fun.”

Live frontman Ed Kowalczyk said in a press release, “So thrilled that the ALT-IMATE Tour is extending into October! From the first concert with Bush and Our Lady Peace, we knew that this show was something special. The fans have been so supportive and are obviously sharing our excitement.” 

“Throwing Copper” and “Sixteen Stone” sold more than 20 million albums combined. Both were featured on Rolling Stone’s list, “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year.”

8/23: Keith Sweat cancels

R&B singer Keith Sweat has canceled his Aug. 23 Celebrity Theatre concert.

The show was originally scheduled for March 16 and rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict. 

Refunds may be obtained at points of purchase.

The Celebrity Theatre apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. 

Sweat has made no mention of the cancellation on his social media accounts, although he was fairly active on Facebook Monday.

9/13: Phoenix Unknown

The Van Buren will host the inaugural Phoenix Unknown: World Music and Night Market presented by Estrella Jalisco on Friday Sept. 13, with performers representing more than 15 countries and vendors representing more than 30 countries.

Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra will be joined Cafe Jaleo (Colombian), Zazu (French), Arroz Con Mango (Cuban), Qais Essar (Afghan), Around Diarra (Burkina Faso), Fushico Daiko (Japanese), Samba de Carvalho (Brazilian), DJ Vex (African), Djentrification (Thai and Cambodian funk), Firebrass Village Blasting Club (Serbian) and Kristopher Rein (Indian). 

Music will be spread across four stages – the Van Buren stage, Monroe Street Stage, Cathedral Alley and the Sanctuary Stage.

Vendors will be serving food from Lebanon, Africa, Italy, Jamaica, Argentina, China, Thailand, Morocco, Korea, Mexico, Dutch Indonesia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and more.

10/31: Mott the Hoople ’74

Mott the Hoople ‘74 – a group featuring three former members of glam-rock legends: Ian Hunter, Ariel Bender, and Morgan Fisher – will bring their tour to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Halloween.

They sold out New York City’s Beacon Theater as part of their acclaimed spring run, which featured their first U.S. concerts in 45 years.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune called their set at First Avenue “one of the most exciting rock ‘n’ roll shows in recent memory,” while the Philadelphia Inquirer said “[Hunter’s] long, fruitful career deserves Rock and Roll Hall of Fame consideration.”

Cirque Dreams Holidaze will play four shows at Comerica Theatre the weekend before Christmas.

Bassrush, the internationally renowned bass music brand, returns to Arizona Aug. 24 with Bassrush Massive at Rawhide Event Center.

Common is bringing his first North American tour since 2009 to the Van Buren on Sunday, July 21. 

The Let Love Have The Last Word Tour is named for Common’s second memoir, following the New York Times bestseller “One Day It’ll All Make Sense.”

But this is not a book tour. The Grammy-winning rapper is hitting the road in support of a forthcoming album, his first since “Black America Again” arrived in late 2016, earning praise from Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Q and Pitchfork.

Lakeshore Music concert series

Lakeshore Music has announced its 2019-20 Concert Series, presenting nine shows the third Saturday of each month from September through May at Tempe Center for the Arts. 

While Lakeshore’s roots are in jazz, the concert lineup features a range of shows, from Cuban rhythms to soulful Afrocentric beats.

Lakeshore Music founder, president and executive producer Woody Wilson says, “Lakeshore Music exists to bring people together for a shared experience of jazz music done well. And part of our mission is to introduce our audiences to exciting, new, emerging artists.”

The season opens on Sept. 28 with Chilean singer-guitarist Camila Meza. Highlights include Sean Jones, a trumpeter Wilson calls “one of the most important jazzmen of our time,” and Cuban jazz pianist Harold López-Nussa, a direct result of Lakeshore’s work with Cuba Rhythm and Views, which conducts U.S. government-sanctioned, cultural-exchange tours of Cuba each year.

The Valley’s Queen of Salsa, Carmela Ramirez, returns with Carmela y Mas in a Latin Jazz Explosion, a lively festival of Cuban popular music and rhythms. And Beth Lederman and Jazz Con Alma with perform a Winter Solstice Concert with the Valley’s finest jazz musicians

The Disney Junior Holiday Party will stop at Comerica Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 15, for a 3 p.m. performance. 

Presented by Pull-Ups, the 46-date tour is from the creators of the popular Pollstar-nominated “Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour.” It features favorite Disney Junior characters — including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Vampirina, and Bingo and Rolly from “Puppy Dog Pals” — performing live on stage to Disney Junior hits and other holiday classics such as “Jingle Bells” and “Deck The Halls.”

The show also includes a special appearance by characters from Disney Junior’s upcoming animated series “T.O.T.S.,” and culminates with a special visit from Santa Claus.

Having first conceptualized the tour several years ago, Ramin will rework and redevelop the musical and visual elements to create a brand new experience that encompasses fan-favorite pieces from the entirety of “Game of Thrones.”

The tour will also include new musical arrangements from the series’ eighth and final season such as the “The Night King” theme, Ramin’s epic nine-minute composition that went viral immediately after debuting on the show. W

The inaugural run of the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience featuring Djawadi kicked off in North America in February of 2017, followed by a European run in 2018 and a second North American tour in last fall. Fresh from headlining the second annual Innings Festival, Incubus have announced that they’ll return to Arizona for a Comerica Theatre concert on Thursday, Oct. 24, with Wild Belle opening. 

The 20 Years of Make Yourself & Beyond Tour will, as the name suggests, find them celebrating the 20th anniversary of their double-platinum breakthrough “Make Yourself.” The Grammy-nominated rockers will be revisiting songs from the “Make Yourself” era as well as other songs spanning their career.

YouTube stars Rhett & Link of “Good Mythical Morning” fame will bring their live show to Comerica Theatre on Nov. 21.

Rhett and Link met in 1984 on the first day of first grade at elementary school in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Their teacher, Ms. Locklear, held them both in from recess for writing profanity on their desks and sentenced them to coloring pictures of mythical beasts. They’ve been best friends ever since.

After graduating NC State with engineering degrees, they discovered the Internet and in their spare time, began posting original sketches, songs and viral local commercials that earned them stardom in the early days of YouTube. 

6/22: The Try Guys

Viral YouTube sensations the Try Guys will“trying everything and anything” when they bring their first national tour to Comerica Theatre on Saturday, June 22.

The Try Guys were established in 2014 and launched an independent YouTube channel in 2018. They now have more than 5.8 million YouTube subscribers and more than 2 billion views. They’ll now conclude the almost two-year “40 Trip Around The Sun Tour” with 20 final shows in North America.

Bastille will bring their “Doom Days” tour to Comerica Theatre on Oct. 15.

7/2: Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame inductions

The Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (AMEHOF) will hold its 2019 Induction Ceremony for six honorees at Tempe Center for the Arts on Tuesday, July 2.

The inductees, including several fixtures of the historic Mill Avenue rock scene in Tempe, are:

Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers: Two decades into a career launched in the Mill Avenue scene heyday, Clyne and the Peacemakers released “Native Heart” in 2017, continue to tour and do the annual Circus Mexicus festival in Rocky Point.

Pistoleros: Led by the Zubia brothers, Pistoleros recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with the album “Silver” on Fervor Records.

Dead Hot Workshop: Clyne once said of Dead Hot Workshop, “Music people in this city get as excited about what Brent Babb does as people did about what Dylan was doing in the ’60s.” 

Bob Meighan: Bob Meighan’s band became a kind of house band at the Celebrity Theatre in the ’70s, being a frequent opening act, before moving to Tucson.

Long Wong’s: This small, defunct venue has long been considered the headquarters of the Mill Avenue scene that spawned the Gin Blossoms, Dead Hot Workshop, the Pistoleros, the Refreshments and many others.

Fender Musical Instrument Corporation: Since 1991, Fender has made its corporate home in Scottsdale. It’s the company that brought the world the Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars and the Jazz and Precision bass guitars as well as many classic amplifiers.

In addition to receiving their induction plaques, the three Tempe bands, including former members of the Peacemakers, will perform live that evening. Doors open at 6 p.m. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m.

10/23: Tenacious D

Tenacious D In Post-Apocalypto The Tour will make its way to Phoenix on Oct. 23 for a show at Comerica Theatre.

Phoenix is one of 11 cities added to this latest tour by the Greatest Band in the World, as Tenacious D’s Jack Black and Kyle Gass prefer to call themselves 

The tour takes its name from “Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto,” an animated film with each frame hand-drawn by Black and every character voiced by Black and Gass.  The film was accompanied by the album “Post-Apocalypto.” 

They’re joined on all dates by the country band Wynchester

Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on Tenacious D’s social media channels Wednesday, May 1, for pre-sale info.

Tenacious D had a variety series on HBO in 1999. Their self-titled album was released in the fall of 2001, going on be certified platinum. The duo released their first feature film together – “Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny” in 2006. The album “Rize of the Fenix” followed in 2012, receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.

In 2013, Black and Gass founded and hosted Festival Supreme, a music and comedy festival in Los Angeles. In its first four years, Festival Supreme boasted acts such as Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Die Antwoord, Amy Poehler, Workaholics and more.

In 2014, Tenacious D won a Grammy in the category of Best Metal Performance for their cover of Ronnie James Dio’s “The Last In Line.”

8/13: Collective Soul

Collective Soul will celebrate their silver anniversary on the road with Tempe’s Gin Blossoms, playing Comerica Theatre on Aug. 13. 

The Now’s The Time Tour also celebrates a new release, their 10th studio album, “Blood,” which hits the streets June 21 on Fuzze-Flex Records/ADA and features guest appearances by Tommy Shaw of Styx and Sheryl Crow’s guitarist Peter Stroud.

In a press release, Collective Soul’s E Roland says he thinks the album “expresses where we’ve been on this life journey,” adding, “I think it’s the best we’ve ever done. I know you should think that, but I really do think it’s the best. It’s a good, consistent record. We’re just so proud of it.”

Relentless Beats has announced the return of Goldrush Music Festival to Rawhide Western Town in Chandler on Sept. 27 and 28. The two-day festival will welcome EDM and hip-hop fans from across the country to experience an event that spans four curated stages.

The undisputed queen of hip-hop soul, Blige topped the R&B with her first two singles, “You Remind Me” and “Real Love,” following through with such classics as “Not Gon’ Cry” and “Be Without You,” a song that would go on to be declared the most successful R&B/hip-hop song of all time in 2017.

Wayne Newton has rescheduled Saturday’s performance at Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino after being made to undergo emergency back surgery.

Newton has issued a statement that reads, “I am truly disappointed in my having to cancel this weekend’s show at Wild Horse Pass, but my doctors have directed me to undergo emergency back surgery to remedy a painful situation. The ZZ Top 50th Anniversary Tour makes its way to Comerica Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 29, with very special guests Cheap Trick.

9/27: Tom Segura

Comedian Tom Segura, best-known for his three Netflix specials, will bring his “Take It Down Tour” to Comerica Theatre on Friday, Sept. 27.

Gila River Arena will host the opening night of Khalid’s North American tour in support of a forthcoming sophomore release called “Free Spirit” on June 20 with Khalid’s friend Clairo opening.

The R&B singer broke through in 2016 with the five-times platinum single, “Location,” following through with a string of multi-platinum hits, including “Young Dumb & Broke,” “Love Lies,” “OTW,” “Eastside” and “Better.”

7/19: Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are playing Comerica Theatre July 19 with Lucius, who team up for the songs “Coolin’ Out ” and “Babe I Know.” 

Their latest album, “Tearing at the Seams,” was released last year on Stax Records to widespread acclaim. “You Worry Me” was the most played song of 2018 at Triple A radio, while “A Little Honey” was No. 8. They were the only artist with two singles in the Top 10 on the year-end list.

More recently, “Hey Mama” became their third chart-topping single on that format.

“Tearing at the Seams” was the most played album of the year at Americana radio, spending 20 weeks at No. 1.

Live Nation Urban and TCG Entertainment will bring 4U: The Music of Prince with Symphony to Mesa Arts Center on Thursday, May 9.

This is the first and only official estate-approved symphonic celebration of the legend’s work, a full symphony orchestra joined by a live band and vocalists in a show that features many of his hits and some lesser-known treasures.

7/28: Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent returns to the Celebrity Theatre as part of his The Music Made Me Do It Again Tour on Sunday, July 28.

Billed as “the World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show,” Brit Floyd will bring a brand new tribute show, 40 Years of The Wall, to Comerica Theatre, on Friday, June 28, performing music from “The Wall,” “The Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Animals” and more.

They’re promising their most ambitious and biggest production yet, recreating the staging of the final 1994 Division Bell tour, complete with a multi-million dollar light show, a large circular screen and arch plus projection, lasers, inflatables and theatrics

The tour is named in honor of 40th anniversary of “The Wall,” a semi-autobiographical concept album from the mind of  founding member Roger Waters that remains one of the biggest-selling albums of all time.

R&B sensations B2K (Omarion, Boog, Fizz and Raz-B) will bring the Millennium Tour to Gila River Arena on May 25 with special guests Mario, Pretty Ricky, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins, Chingy and Bobby V.

Latin music superstar Maluma brings his Maluma 11:11 World Tour to Talking Stick Resort Arena Saturday, Sept. 21.

Activated Events and Relentless Beats are bringing Wet Electric back to Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe on Saturday, April 27.

This is the 10th anniversary of the country’s largest waterpark music festival, and judging from the first full round of artists they’ve announced, it should live up to every expectation they managed to raise in the course of those other nine years.

5/7: Violent Femmes

Folk-punk standard-bearers Violent Femmes will bring their co-headlining tour with X, the pride of old-school L.A. punk, to Phoenix on May 7 for a show at the Van Buren. 

Femmes took college radio by storm with 1983’s career-defining self-titled debut, which featured any number of their most neurotic calling cards, from “Blister in the Sun” to”Kiss Off”, “Add It Up” and “Gone Daddy Gone.”

Rolling Stone praised the trio for having taken punk’s revenge-of-the-nerds aspect to heart in Gordon Gano’s gleeful tales of sexual frustration and impending psychosis.

Meanwhile, California punk never got any better than X, whose first album, “Los Angeles,” found them making good on lead guitarist Billy Zoom’s conviction that this thing called punk was really just a hopped-up version of his favorite rockabilly records. Rob Thomas will play Comerica Theatre on Sunday, June 23, with Abby Anderson in support of a just-announced fourth solo album, “Chip Tooth Smile” (arriving April 26).

The Matchbox Twenty singer released a single from the album, “One Less Day (Dying Young),” today to go with the announcement.

Penned by Thomas and produced by Butch Walker (Panic! At The Disco, P!nk), “One Less Day (Dying Young)” is accompanied by a video directed by Andy Morahan (George Michael, Elton John, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses).

In a press release, Thomas said, “This is an anthem about life and living. Living one more day is a privilege not afforded to everyone, so do all you can with the ones you get.”
