The Arizona Hotshots won their second game in a row and first home game since Week 1 on Sunday, beating the San Diego Fleet 32-15.

One of the big storylines entering Sunday afternoon’s game was whether former Sun Devils quarterback Mike Bercovici could prove Hotshots coach Rick Neuheisel wrong for passing on him in the first round of the AAF’s quarterback draft.

However, Hotshots quarterback John Wolford outdueled Bercovici and led his team to victory.

The two biggest plays of the game came from Wolford.

The first was in the second quarter. The Hotshots faced a fourth-and-1 at the Fleet’s 26-yard line. Wolford rolled out to his left and fired a touchdown pass to Thomas Durate to give Arizona a 17-9 lead.

The second took place in the fourth quarter. Up 23-15, Wolford scrambled up the middle looking for a first down. Suddenly, the middle of the field parted, and Wolford turned a short run into a 35-yard touchdown.
