USA TODAY Sports: Cardinals select Western Michigan WR Corey Davis

Nate Davis writes: “He’s big (6-3, 213), a smooth athlete and prolific, amassing a Football Bowl Subdivision record 5,278 career receiving yards. Working on the boundary, Davis could initially be a nice complement to Larry Fitzgerald before eventually supplanting him as the team’s top target.”

SI.com: Cardinals take Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes

Chris Burke writes: “The buzz around Mahomes right now isn’t just a product of the lengthy draft season. (OK, maybe some of it is, but it’s not all because of that). He has athleticism, a cannon for an arm and an exceptionally high ceiling. Bruce Arians could tap into all of that potential.”

SI.com: Cardinals pick Davis

Chris Burke writes: “Wide receiver is an under-the-radar need for the Cardinals—Michael Floyd is gone, Larry Fitzgerald has maybe a season or two left, and John Brown missed time last season after being diagnosed with sickle cell trait. Davis is an immediate No. 2 receiver, with No. 1 upside.”

Daniel Jeremiah writes: “The Cardinals could look at a safety here but they really need to add some youth to their receiver group. Ross is a dynamic vertical threat who fits perfectly in Arizona’s offensive system.”

Steve Palazzolo writes: “Arizona’s vertical passing attack would love to add the draft’s fastest player in Ross, who not only ran a 4.22 at the NFL combine, but it’s speed that shows up on tape. He can get behind the defense to create big plays, but he also has enough quicks to win in the short game. He adds yet another big-play option to the Arizona offense.”

It writes: “The Cardinals had major problems at cornerback across from Patrick Peterson the entire year. They tried multiple players, but couldn’t find a solution. Fortunately for them, this class is absolutely packed at the position. Quarterback is the other option, and I could see Arizona going that route with either DeShone Kizer or Pat Mahomes. However, I think the Cardinals either move down or select a signal-caller in the second round instead.”

CBS Sports: Cardinals pick Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer

Ryan Wilson writes: “The Cardinals could address life in a post-Carson Palmer world a year or two before it actually happens. Interestingly, coach Bruce Arians said recently that he’s “bugged” by Trubisky playing just one season and thinks only one quarterback is ready to play right away. Reportedly, Kizer is that guy.”

Sporting News: Cardinals go with Clemson QB Deshaun Watson

Vinnie Iyer writes: “The Cardinals could think about linebacker and defensive back here, but they come back full circle to Watson as Carson Palmer’s groomed successor over Patrick Mahomes and DeShone Kizer. Watson’s winning mind-set and big-armed skill set make for a great Bruce Arians pupil.”

It writes: “This is the time of year when it’s tough to decipher information from misdirection. About a month ago, HC Bruce Arians talked about five or six good arms in this year’s Draft. Not long after, a list of five names surfaced that included QBs Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky, Patrick Mahomes II, Davis Webb, and Nathan Peterman. Last week, Arians noted that only one of those arms is ready to play. While Arians didn’t name any names, it appears the QB that he was referring to is Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer. It won’t be until the end of the month that we find out whether these public reports hold any truth, but Kizer is an interesting option for the Cards.”

FOX Sports: Cardinals pick Alabama TE O.J. Howard

Dieter Kurtenbach writes: “The Cardinals should probably take a quarterback or cornerback, but Howard helps augment their pass game for years to come and is tremendous value at this pick.”

CBS Sports: Cardinals go with Ross

Will Brinson writes: “Speed kills and no one likes to throw down the field to deadly speed quite like Bruce Arians. Ross would impact this offense in a big way out of the gate.”
