Shooting victim, 23, was driven by his brother to a nearby fire station for aid.
A 23-year-old man died after a shootout in a grocery-store parking lot, and Avondale police said Friday they have identified a suspect.
Officers responded to multiple calls about the shootout at 9:56 p.m. Thursday at a Fry’s Food and Drug Store parking lot at Buckeye Road and Avondale Boulevard, police said.
They found spent shell casings in the parking lot and spoke to witnesses who said several vehicles and their occupants were involved in the shooting, but all had fled before officers arrived, police said.
Officers quickly were contacted by the Avondale firefighters, who said that a man with a single gunshot wound had been taken to a fire station at Avondale Boulevard and Durango Street, about a half-mile away.
Erick Dominguez, 23, was shot one time in the torso with a handgun and died during surgery at a hospital, police said. Dominguez was driven to the fire station by his brother, who was with him when he was shot, police said.
