Seven people, including one with serious injuries, were transported to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Gilbert Sunday afternoon, officials said. 

The Gilbert Fire Department said crews arrived to the scene of the crash around 1:30 p.m. near Lindsay and Warner roads.

Seven occupants were transported to a nearby trauma center, including one person with serious injuries, officials said.

The two cars in the collision sustained heavy damage. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as police investigate.
