The Surprise Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was found drowned in a pool Saturday morning.
Police responded to a call about a drowning around 8:45 a.m. to a residence near West Surprise Farms Loop North and West 183rd Avenue, shortly after a fire crew was already on scene, police said.
According to police, the caller who reported the incident told 911 operators that she found her 48-year-old husband floating face down in their swimming pool.
Once on scene, fire personnel began lifesaving efforts, however, the man was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
According to Surprise police, a preliminary investigation was conducted and there was no indication that the victim suffered any visible trauma.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
