Three children and two women were injured in a collision that involved a car crashing into an electrical pole in Phoenix on Friday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to the crash near North 43rd and West Clarendon avenues shortly after 1 p.m. Two cars were involved, one of which crashed into a pole and hit three pedestrians, according to Capt. Frank Keller with the Phoenix Fire Department.
The department reported a total of five injured.
Two of the children were immediately taken to the Phoenix Children’s trauma center for treatment. The remaining child did not have serious injuries and was later transported to the Phoenix Children’s emergency room, Keller said.
According to Keller, the two women who were also seriously injured were taken to trauma centers for immediate attention. Another man involved in the car crash was also evaluated but had no injuries and refused treatment.
According to the Fire Department, SRP is evaluating the condition of the pole and power lines. The Phoenix Police Department is conducting further investigations.
