Three people were arrested Monday night after a Chandler police pursuit that began when someone shot two people at separate locations and then fired on officers, police said.

The first shooting occurred at a Valero gas station near Arizona Avenue and Riggs Road. Chandler police received a report about 7 p.m. that a man in a white passenger car shot at someone at the gas station.

The vehicle had fled by the time officers arrived.

A short time later, police received a call about a similar car traveling north on Arizona Avenue near Germann Road with someone inside pointing a gun, police said.

Officers located the vehicle near Arizona Avenue and Pecos Drive, where another person was shot, police said. As police arrived, someone inside the car fired at the officers, police said.

Police pursued the vehicle until it was stopped near Hunt Highway and State Route 587, near the Gila River Reservation, Chandler police said.

The three people were arrested without incident, police said.

The conditions of the people shot were not immediately available.

No officers were injured.

The intersection of Arizona and Pecos avenues was closed Monday night while police investigated.
