One person was seriously injured and another was clinging to life after a Sunday crash in Phoenix, according to officials.

The collision occurred just before 11:30 a.m. near 57th Avenue and Indian School Road, according to Sgt. Armando Carbajal, a Phoenix police spokesman.

One vehicle was traveling west on Indian School Road when it crossed the center line and hit the second vehicle, he said.

One driver, a 25-year-old man, was critically injured Carbajal said. The second driver, a 27-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
