On Fourth of July, you generally think of dazzling fireworks, barbecues, American flags and family-friendly fun.

But the holiday also brings about some big parties at bars and clubs across metro Phoenix, where the main spectacles are on the dance floor, American flags are displayed on bikinis and swim trunks and chants of ‘Murica! are more than likely to happen throughout the night.

Here are some great Fourth of July parties happening across the Valley:

Independents Week Pub Crawl

Celebrate National Independents Week by supporting local businesses. Local First Arizona is hosting its annual pub crawl, inviting visitors to visit five downtown Phoenix bars and restaurants that each are offering $5 drink specials. Join in the scavenger hunt and if you solve all the clues, you can win prizes. The participating locations are Found:Re Phoenix, Fez, Cornish Pasty Co., Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar.

Robin Schulz

The Grammy award-nominated German producer will kick off Fourth of July weekend at Maya. Most recently, Schulz teamed up with David Guetta and Cheat Codes for their single “Shed a Light,” and Schulz directed a film simply called “Robin Schulz: The Movie,” with interviews from notable producers including Lost Frequencies, Axwell and Ingrosso.

BroLoaf’s 8th Annual Patriotic Meltdown

Join punk rockers BroLoaf for their annual Independence Day concert, featuring the Smoky Mountain Skullbusters, No Year, Old Fashion Assassin and Skull Drug. The show will include a barbecue.

W Scottsdale Independence Day Weekend

The sleek Scottsdale hotel hosts three pool parties to celebrate Fourth of July. Saturday will feature resident DJs Circle, Complex and Knick Knack on the turntables. On Sunday, Italian DJ duo Posso will perform. The EDM producers most recently released the single “Run This World.” On Tuesday, the Deux Twins will perform and a fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. The hotel will offer a special Independence Day package and two wristbands per bed for the holiday party.

Make America Dance Again at Tongue Tied

Hosted by DJs Roya and Funkfinger, this monthly dance party will feature patriotic tunes and drink specials, a photo booth and a costume contest. Send a text to the number below with the secret password (found on cards handed out at the entrance) to be entered into the raffle for prizes. Also send music requests via text.

Whiskey Row

Nothing says America like Whiskey Row, the trendy country bar with three Valley locations. The Scottsdale bar will have decorations, live music and drink specials starting Thursday night. On Tuesday, July 4, enjoy $3 Coors Light and Bud Light beers. In Tempe, $3 beers and $5 Smirnoff drinks will start on Thursday night and go through the Fourth of July. In Gilbert, guests can sip $3 Bud Light beers until 5 p.m. from Friday through Tuesday. The party on July 4 lasts all day with a game tournament, food and drink specials, live bands and a DJ.

El Hefe

The Scottsdale bar will host “Red, White & Zebra Stripe” weekend from Friday through Sunday, with a local DJ showcase and $200 bottles of Pinnacle vodka on Sunday. On Tuesday the bar will serve $5 frozen margaritas all day. At the Tempe bar, Thursday is the “Star Spangled Smirnoff” party with $5 Smirnoff drinks. Patrons can enjoy $3 beers and $5 Smirnoff drinks from Thursday through Tuesday.

Third of July in Cave Creek

Harold’s Cave Creek Corral, the Horny Toad, Buffalo Chip Saloon and Roadhouse are all hosting family-friendly bashes on July 3 that will feature barbecue dinners, drink specials, live music and a fireworks show at Harold’s. A free shuttle service transports people around town from 6 p.m.-midnight.

The Buffalo Chip will offer an all-you-can-eat smoked barbecue ribs, chicken, brisket and pork dinner with sides for $14.95. The Horny Toad will feature Danny Romero & the Arizona Territory Trio from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Roadhouse will have $3 PBR beers and $5 Red, White & Blue shots, and live music from 7 to 11 p.m. 

At Harold’s, the barbecue starts at 5:30 p.m. out on the patio and there will be face painting, shaved ice and a mobile game truck. Patrons can grab the open seating or pay for reserved seating to get a good view of the fireworks. Hillbilly Deluxe and the Crown Kings will perform.

Deorro

The young, Mexican-American DJ is quickly becoming a sought after producer, and has worked with the likes of Diplo, Steve Aoki, Chuckie and Chris Brown. He performs for the Release Pool Party at Talking Stick Resort.

Nero and Tommy Trash

Partyers get to enjoy two great EDM acts at this Sunday pool party. Nero is an electronic music trio hailing from London, who won a Grammy award for their collaborative remix of “Promises” with Skrillex. Tommy Trash hails from Australia and now resides in Los Angeles. He started his career in 2006 and has earned a reputation for his rowdy live shows. He’s worked with many notable artists including Wolfgang Gartner, A-Trak and Sebastian Ingrosso.

All-American Weekend at Lustre Rooftop Bar

Head to the hip rooftop bar and pool for a weekend of parties, all open to the public. Starting Friday, Lustre will feature DJs, Tito’s vodka drink specials and pool toys and beach balls. Make it a stay-cation and book one of the special summer packages.

Morgan Page

The Grammy Award-nominated progressive house DJ will perform during Maya’s Sound Wave Pool Party series on Sunday. His latest effort, 2015’s “DC to Light,” hit number one on the US Heatseekers Albums and number three on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums charts.

Borgeous

Maya presents “Red, White & Borgeous” on Fourth of July, featuring the Los Angeles-based producer. Borgeous earned international fame with his collaborative track “Tsunami” with Canadian duo DVBBS, and he teamed up with hip-hop artists Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka and Whoo Kid for the track “Toast.”
