One person was killed and another person was wounded in a double shooting in west Phoenix on Wednesday night, officials said.

The shooting occurred near 34th Avenue and Greenway Road about 9 p.m.

Phoenix fire officials said one person was dead at the scene, and the other person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police were at the scene investigating late Wednesday.
