The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help locate a man suspected of stealing a vehicle with two young children inside while intoxicated.

YCSO deputies were called to the 3400 block of East Shade Road in Rimrock around 9:30 p.m. Friday after a victim told them that 23-year-old Dylon Horne stole their vehicle containing their 3-year-old child and 4-month-old baby.

The victim and a friend followed Horne in a separate vehicle to a “mini-mart” in the McGuirevile area. YCSO says the victim shouted at Horne to stop the vehicle because the children were in the car, but Horne sped away.

Horne crashed into a pick-up truck and took the victim’s cell phone and credit card before abandoning the vehicle with the two children still inside according to YCSO.

Deputies returned the unharmed children to their mother.

YCSO said Horne has a $25,000 warrant for his arrest and faces charges of fraud, impersonation, kidnapping, unlawful use of a means of transportation, endangerment, criminal damage and theft.

YCSO is offering a $500 cash reward for any information leading to Horne’s arrest. Those with information can call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or send a tip at yavapaisw.com.
