A 40-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times at a light-rail stop Saturday afternoon, and suffered life-threatening injuries.

According to Tempe Sgt. Matt Feddeler, authorities were called to the area of Priest Drive and Washington Street at 12:18 p.m. on a report of the injured woman who was stabbed while on the platform.

The woman was taken to the hospital and was being treated for multiple stab wounds.

The assailant was located and arrested, but police have not released the individual’s indentity. The victim and the assailant “are acquaintances,” Feddeler said. The incident is still under investigation.
