Phoenix police say a woman is in custody after stabbing someone while trying to rob a Circle K store in Phoenix on Saturday evening.

The incident took place at the Circle K near 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road. Police say the woman was robbing the business with a knife before a customer was stabbed.

“Customers reportedly held the suspect down until police arrived,” said Sgt. Vince Lewis, a Phoenix Police Department spokesman, in an email.

Lewis said the stabbing was “non-life-threatening.”

Police said the woman is now in custody and an investigation is ongoing. Police did not reveal the woman’s identity.
