Tavern+Bowl combines alcohol, comfort food and bowling at Glendale’s Westgate Entertainment District.

A new addition to Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale includes a microbrewery, restaurant and bowling under one roof.

Tavern+Bowl opened in early May, just east of Yard House in the heart of the entertainment district near Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue.

The spot includes Glendale’s first microbrewery, Good Bad Ugly Brewing Co.

The Glendale location is the company’s first foray into Arizona, with the other four spread throughout southern California.

The venue’s logo — a skull wearing a tiny crown and crossed bowling pins — is projected across the bowling alley’s floor, staring back at the bowlers taking aim. Spacious leather couches wrap around tables behind the lanes, where bowlers can order food and drinks.

Non-bowling fans can check out the pool tables and shuffle board, which have their own respective fees.

Flat-screen TVs illuminate the darker areas of the room, with some dedicated to score-keeping and others tuned to sports channels. Garage doors hang over the bar counter that separates the restaurant’s interior from the patio.

A long hallway toward the back of the building leads to a “scratch kitchen” where chefs serve up burgers, seasoned chicken wings and flatbread pizzas.

Tavern+Bowl joins Westgate’s other games and entertainment venue, Dave & Busters, which opened in 2015.

Games cost $3 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. Outside of that, it’s pay by the hour, which ranges from $19 to $30 depending on the time and day, with a two-hour limit per lane. Those willing to pay $10, can reserve a lane up to two weeks in advance.
