A 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive and not breathing in a backyard pool in Tolleson, according to the Phoenix Fire Department Captain Danny Gile.

The family of the child performed CPR on the boy and called 911 when they found him around 5 p.m., Gile said.

He was last seen 10 minutes before the call was made.

Fire crews from Phoenix and Tolleson went to the house near 86th Drive and Hilton Avenue and continued CPR and began advanced life support care, according to Gile.

The child was transported to Banner Estrella Hospital in extremely critical condition.
