Every fall the Arizona Republic is proud to host the azcentral Wine & Food Experience, a celebration of the best food and drink the Grand Canyon state has to offer.
It’s an opportunity for food lovers to enjoy bites from top restaurants, mingle with some of the region’s best chefs, and come face to face with some of the culinary world’s biggest celebrities.
This year, however, the event won’t look quite like it has before. Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the azcentral Wine & Food experience is going virtual.
Called Wine & Food Experience: To Go, this year’s event invites Valley diners to show their support for local restaurants by going on a Grand Tasting adventure of their own.
What to know about the azcentral Wine & Food Experience: To Go
Here’s how it works: Local food fans can order delivery or takeout — or dine in — at a participating Wine & Food Experience restaurant. Take a picture of the food, your receipt or a selfie and upload to the Wine & Food Experience website and you’ll be entered for a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants or a grand prize of $1,000.
The event and contest run from Oct. 9-31.
And there’s a prize for the restaurants, too. The five restaurants with the most uploads will win $500 courtesy of Lexus.
You can view the entire list of participating restaurants on the azcentral Wine & Food Experience website. Some of the businesses include:
- Aioli Gourmet Burgers.
- Cafe Lalibela.
- Luna Gelateria.
- Maple & Ash.
- Pomo Pizzeria.
- Tacos Tijuana.
- Timo Wine Bar.
- Toasted Mallow.
- Trapp House BBQ.
- Tryst Cafe.
- Zak’s Chocolate.
