Boys and girls Arizona all-stars who will be part of the The Show were introduced Wednesday at Talking Stick Resort Arena, where the double-header will be played on March 30.

The NBA’s Suns and the WNBA’s Mercury are partnering with Biokats Sports Network to present The Show: Arizona Boys and Girls High School Basketball All-Star Games.

The Suns play host to the Los Angeles Clippers that night. The game will be played at noon and 1:30.

“We’ve been planning this for six months,” said Jerry Howard, who is the CEO of Biokats and had a partnership with the Denver Nuggets for Colorado all-star games since 2001. “The fact that we chose the date before the Final Four was pretty key.”

Howard said he has received clearance from the Arizona Interscholastic Association to stage the all-star games. David Hines, assistant executive director of the AIA, said that current coaches can lead the teams if the AIA Executive Board approves it. Those coaches have to be submitted by the schools for approval, Hines added.

Howard said he no longer has partnership with the Nuggets, but still runs all-star high school games in Colorado.

“The key to Phoenix is, we know this is a basketball-rich state,” Howard said. “We wanted to bring the same experience down here for the athletes that we do in Denver. With the Phoenix Suns, they’ve been a gracious host. There is a reason why we selected March 30th with the Final Four.”
