But Sam Means of the Format has something to make the wait a bit more bearable.
As the singer revealed in an Instagram post, “I wrote and recorded a little 5 song EP in my laundry room this week, while the girls were out of town. Hope you like it.”
“I’m Sorry” is available as $5 cassingle and/or $15 cassock bundle (with socks designed by Means’ daughter Lola) at Hello Merch.

Free downloads are available for at Bandcamp. It’s also streaming now on Apple Music and should be up on Spotify and other streaming services before long.
If you haven’t streamed it yet, it’s exactly the sort of instantly contagious indie-pop he’s taught us to expect in both the Format and previous solo endeavors.
Highlights range from the quirky keyboard-driven charms of “Live Forever 2” to the EP-closing “PPP,” a State of the Union address on acoustic guitar that finds the singer pleading with the man to “give the kids a (expletive) turn.”
