A 58-year-old woman died after being hit by a driver Friday evening while crossing the street near East Van Buren Street and North 32nd Street, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Phoenix police said they responded to the location around 8:15 p.m. on Friday. They found that the woman was attempting to cross mid-block when she was hit by the westbound driver.
The unidentified pedestrian was taken to the hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department; however, she later died at the hospital, according to police.
The driver stayed on the scene, police said, and did not show any signs of impairment.
