Lightning McQueen and his pals are racing into town this weekend with a stop at Desert Ridge Marketplace on their Cars 3 Road to the Races tour.

Fans will be able to take pictures with life-sized versions of McQueen, voiced by Owen Wilson, and with two new characters from the upcoming film: Cruz Ramirez, voiced by Cristela Alonzo, and Jackson Storm, voiced by Armie Hammer.

Young racers can also watch a sneak peak of the film and participate in other themed activities and pit crew challenges.

The Phoenix stop this Saturday and Sunday is part of a 27-city nationwide tour to promote the third installment of the beloved Disney Pixar film franchise.

The film, which shows McQueen on a mission to prove himself in front of a whole new generation of racers, will be released on June 16.

Both Saturday and Sunday are forecast to hit 106 degrees, so come prepared with umbrellas or hats for shade, lots of water, sunscreen and folding chairs if you need accommodations. Desert Ridge says to expect long lines and wait times.
