Arizona State has made the top six for another highly sought after football prospect.

This time it is tight end Joe Royer out of Elder High School in Cincinnati who is also considering Ohio State, LSU,  Penn State, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder narrowed his choices down from 25 offers although Ohio State is said to be the favorite by both 247 Sports and Rivals.

Royer attended a one-day camp at Ohio State last week after which he got an official offer from that school. He plans to visit there on June 21.

He has already made trips, either official or unofficial, to Michigan, Penn State, Boston College, Cincinnati and Arizona State.

Michigan is likely out of the picture because the Wolverines just got a commitment from three-star tight end Matthew Hibner, its second from a tight end in the 2020 class so it wouldn’t likely need a third.

None of the other schools on Royer’s list have landed a tight end commitment yet.

The player unveiled his list of final choices on his Twitter account Tuesday night.

ASU tight ends coach Donnie Yantis has been the Sun Devils coach most actively in touch with the Royer.

ASU currently has four commitments for the class of 2020 – wide receiver Chad Johnson (Los Angeles Cathedral), athlete T Lee (Bufor, Ga.), cornerback Macen Williams (Harbor City Narbonne, Calif.) and offensive lineman Ben Bray (Red Mountain).
