A high-school student was arrested in Flagstaff on Wednesday afternoon for investigation of violent threats and intimidation at an educational facility, the Flagstaff Police Department said.

At about 1:30 p.m., a juvenile at Coconino High School made comments about the “Columbine school shooting” in Littleton, Colorado, and made statements about bringing a gun to school on Wednesday.

Officials found that the student had three rifle rounds with the powder removed, police said.

Family members told police there are no firearms in the student’s home, police said.

The student called the Columbine shooters “heroes,” police added.

The student was booked into the Coconino County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police say they do not believe this student is the same individual who threatened a Columbine-style shooting at Flagstaff High School in March, but that investigation is continuing.
