Tucson Salpointe Catholic senior offensive lineman Bruno Fina announced Thursday on social media that he has trimmed his college list to three:

UCLA

Yale

Boston College.

Fina, 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, didn’t list Arizona, which is where his father John played on  the offensive line for Dick Tomey in the early 1990s.

John Fina enjoyed a 10-year NFL career, the first nine with the Buffalo Bills from 1992-2001, and the 2002 season with the Arizona Cardinals.

Fina picked up an Arizona offer in mid-April after he received offers from UCLA and USC. Before that, his only other Division I offer was from Abilene Christian out of Texas.

Besides UA, UCLA and USC, his other Pac-12 offers came from Arizona State, Washington State and Oregon State. He also was offered by Nevada, Vanderbilt and Brown.

Earlier this week, Salpointe senior safety Lathan Ransom announced his commitment to Ohio State. Salpointe senior running back Bijan Robinson has said he will announced between Texas and Ohio State on Aug. 2.

“Bruno is a fantastic young man, highest of character, totally committed to the team’s goals,” Salpointe coach Dennis Bene said. “Despite the pressure of his father being an NFL veteran, Bruno has forged his own identity and earned high praise from college coaches on his own merit.

“Kids like Bruno is the No. 1 reason why I coach. You truly enjoy working with young people who are receptive to teaching, and, in return, they give you everything they have.”
