Police are “actively investigating” a Prescott Valley day care center after receiving at least five reports of child abuse, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

One employee of the facility, 18-year-old Chandler Blankenship, has been arrested in connection with the reported abuse of a 3-year-old girl, according to police.

Blankenship was an employee of Gummy Bear Early Learning Center, where the abuse allegedly happened, Sgt. Jason Kaufman of the Prescott Valley Police Department said Thursday evening.

Kaufman said investigators are “currently looking into four other victims” of abuse, though not necessarily by the same suspect.

The Prescott Valley Police Department is asking parents whose children attend the center to ask their kids if they have been abused, according to Kaufman.

Gummy Bear Early Learning Center, which is located on Manley Drive near North Robert Road in Prescott Valley, is cooperating with law enforcement, according to police.

Gummy Bear Early Learning Center told an Arizona Republic reporter that they did not have time to comment on the incident Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing.

Breaking news reporter Molly Hudson contributed to the reporting of this story.
