A man is dead after being shot Saturday night at a home and then taken to a nearby convenience store in Phoenix, said officials with Phoenix Police Department.
Officers responded to a shooting call at 8:26 p.m. When they arrived at a convenience store near 16th Street and Southern Avenue, they found Jesus Guzman, 43, with gunshot wounds.
“The victim was transported by Phoenix Fire … and did not survive his injuries,” said Phoenix Det. Luis Samudio in a news release.
A witness at the scene told officers that the man was taken to the store from the location where he was shot. Officers were directed to the home where the shooting happened.
No one was at the residence, but police said evidence of the shooting was found inside the home.
