A 53-year-old Phoenix man was sentenced to 14 years in prison and a lifetime of probation in a child-exploitation case from 2016, officials said Tuesday.

Peter Joseph Caddeo was identified in 2016 when he was using internet chat groups with names such as “toddler” to access child pornography, a statement from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office said.

Investigators served a search warrant at Caddeo’s Phoenix residence and found digital devices with hundreds of pictures and videos of child pornography, the AG’s office said.

Officials learned from Caddeo that he would get child pornography by trading images on internet chat groups or would pay money to gain access to download the pictures and videos, the AG’s office said.

Caddeo initially was charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, but pleaded guilty to one count and another reduced charge, according to court records. He will be required to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.
