A pedestrian ran onto U.S. 60 in Mesa and was struck and killed by a street sweeper on Tuesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The collision happened just after 5 a.m. on the westbound U.S. 60 near Dobson Road, and according to the DPS, the right lane was briefly closed due to the investigation.
The DPS tweeted around 8 a.m. the right lane near Dobson Road was reopened with heavy traffic.
The investigation is ongoing.
