A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a Phoenix street midblock on Thursday night.
The pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, was walking across 35th Avenue north of Bell Road when he was hit around 9:30 p.m., according to Phoenix police.
Police said the 19-year-old driver was unable to see the pedestrian in time to avoid a collision.
The pedestrian, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police said impairment was not a factor and there was no indication of speeding.
