A pedestrian was in extremely critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in west Phoenix Thursday evening, police said.
The pedestrian was hit near 22nd Avenue and Indian School Road, said Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Armando Carbajal.
Indian School Road between 21st and 23rd avenues was closed in both directions around 8 p.m., while officials investigated.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
